nude

I have an obsession with nude at the moment, having bought 3 vintage silk slips in the colour (thank you to Beyond Retro and RePsycho!) Layer these over jersey t-shirts for a casual daytime look or alone with no bra - for those who are able to brave this look - with lots of gold chains for evening. They are also great for wearing with thick wool jumpers/tights/socks when the weather turns a bit chilly; silk and wool together is a great combination.

Also bought a floral nude silk scarf which I am currently wearing as a headscarf, channelling 1950s housewife look!

Stella McCartney does nudes wonderfully... Spring '09 Nude boyfriend blazer and white origami dress.

And to finish off - nude shoes! Well worn = well loved.

head girl

I have just bought (and am utterly in love with) a crown from whichgoose on Etsy. It is gorgeously made and makes me feel like a fairy princess when wearing it. Perfect for wearing to do the shopping then...

There is also this fun headpiece - brightens up any day with its colourful bobbles!

If you want a equally brilliant headpiece for yourself head to www.etsy.com/whichgoose

make a statement

Given my obsession with large and over-the-top jewellery I am loving that statement pieces are here to stay! I am especially fond of the embellished and almost crafty-looking necklaces that were displayed in the A/W collections; here are a few of my favourites from Marni and Christian Lacroix.

Marni A/W '09 - Marni did the 'Bib Necklace' so well, I can see this type of jewellery being worn with 1940s inspired blouses and skirts for Autumn.

Christian Lacroix A/W '09 - Love these skeletal looking creations, the perfect foil to floaty floral-print dresses!

I am now turning my thoughts to a personal project; fabric, sequins, lace and lots of imagination and I think I could be onto something. Stay tuned for the results!

treasure trove

Have been discovering the joys of car boot sales. If you thought these were still as bad as when your parents used to ‘let’ you help out on a Sunday when you would have much rather been playing swingball in the garden or making forts in the lounge, think again. I urge you to go along, there are treasures to be found I promise you! Check out this site for your nearest...
